Programma ( 6 )

  • Day 1

Arrive in La Val, the Dolomites

Arrive at Brunico train station at your leisure and enjoy a 30-minute private transfer from Brunico to La Val. Nestled in the Dolomites of Alto Adige, La Val is a stunning Ladin village perched at an altitude of 1,348 meters. Boasting awe-inspiring landscapes, ancient barns, and traditional rural settlements, it's a hiker's dream destination. With a vast network of hiking trails to suit all levels of difficulty, outdoor enthusiasts flock to La Val from all over. As the first certified hiking destination in Alto Adige, it's also paving the way for the "European Hiking Villages" project. The Armentara meadows, located in the Fanes-Senes-Braies natural park and at the base of the Sas dla Crusc/Santa Croce, are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Dinner at your hotel is included.

  • Day 2

    Hike to Santa Croce Sanctuary

This morning you will traverse the flowery Armentara meadows, the forest, and the rocky trail under the Santa Croce massif, with Sasso delle Nove and Sasso delle Dieci towering above you. You will reach the church and sanctuary of Ospizio S. Croce (2,045m / 6,710'). The sober white church was consecrated in 1484 and holds an image of Christ bearing the cross, hence the name of the mountain – Sasso della Croce (Stone of the Cross.). There is a charming rifugio here, where you can enjoy a traditional Dolomites lunch. Don't miss the famous Kaiserschmarren, a crepe-like pancake with powdered sugar and jam! After lunch, you can decide to hike back to your hotel or descend by chairlifts (tickets not included).
    (~3-4 hours hiking, 7,5 km / 4,6 miles, 580m / 1,903'ascent, 340m / 1,115'descent. With lifts: 2- 3 hours hiking, 5,4 km / 3,3 miles, 580m / 1,903' ascent, 90m / 295' descent.)

  • Day 3

    Hike the Pares Peak

Embark on a journey through the picturesque "Hiking Village" of La Val and discover its myriad hiking opportunities. A must-visit destination is the trail leading up to Pares Peak, renowned for its scenic beauty. As you traverse through the lush greenery of the fragrant Rit meadows, you will be mesmerized by the breathtaking view of the village of La Val. After a leisurely two-hour walk, you will arrive at the Crusc da Rit cross, where you will be awed by the magnificent panorama that stretches from the Sas dla Crusc massif to the Pütia mountain. From this vantage point, you can spot the three majestic churches of La Val. The hike then continues with an ascent to Pares Peak, where you will be rewarded with a more expansive view of the valley.
    (~5.5 hours hiking, 13,6 km / 8,4 miles, 1,006m / 3,300' ascent and descent.)

  • Day 4

Hike the Sass de Putia loop

Starting out at the very top northwestern corner of the Dolomite region, a short distance south of the Austrian border ranges, this exciting itinerary takes you around the majestic isolated Sass de Putia. The start point, Passo delle Erbe (1,978m / 6,489'), is located at the very foot of the mountain and is a broad saddle amidst beautiful flowered pastures. The pale Dolomite formations of Sass de Putia rise from dramatic multi-coloured rock strata.
    (~4-5 hours hiking, 13,5 km / 8,1 miles, 650m / 2,132' ascent and descent.)

  • Day 5

Hike a loop into Alpe di Sennes

Located in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park, this loop hike into the Alpe di Sennes entails a good range of scenery and habitats: grandiose Dolomite groups headed by the Croda Rossa are foremost features, their lower flanks cloaked by flourishing woods of a healthy mix of evergreen conifer and deciduous species. You’ll hike on a stony track, a former wartime mule route, traversing a series of grassy basins dotted with bushes and dwarf mountain pine, the ideal home of marmots and chamois.
You’ll hike on a combination of single tracks and jeep roads, with several fantastic rifugios along the way where you can stop for a refreshment or a meal. You’re in the Veneto now, south of the Val Badia, just north of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Look for differences in language, culture, and cuisine – you’re more likely to hear Italian spoken here!
    (~4 hours hiking, 10km / 6 miles, 612m / 2,007' ascent and descent.)

  • Day 6

    Depart

Breakfast and departure with a private transfer to Brunico train station.
