Treat yourself to a slow and relaxing holiday surrounded by serene winter meadows and forests, where tranquility meets exceptional cuisine.
You will explore enchanting landscapes and secluded valleys, guided by a professional UIAGM/IFMGA-certified mountain guide and your trusty snowshoes.
You will stay in a cozy B&B in Sterzing, a picturesque gem in the Eisack Valley. Each day, you will set out on guided excursions through South Tyrol’s magical winter scenery, complete with charming alpine pastures, authentic flavours, and warm hospitality.
The genuine kindness and sincerity of the locals will leave a lasting impression. When you return home, you will carry with you the vibrant energy of this experience, refreshed and ready to embrace everyday life with renewed enthusiasm.

  • Day 1

    Arrival

    Arrive independently in Sterzing / Vipiteno and check in at your hotel.

    With its colourful houses, charming streets lined with shops, and picturesque medieval squares, Vipiteno is rightfully celebrated as one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy. You’ll see why as soon as you arrive.

    Enjoy a delightful dinner in a local restaurant (not included)

  • Day 2

    ALLRISSALM

    Meet your professional UIAGM/IFMGA-certified mountain guide in the morning to review your equipment together. Your adventure begins with one of the most fascinating and unforgettable experiences: a snowshoeing outing along the Austrian border in the Breonian Alps, beneath the imposing Tribulaun, whose summit rises beyond 3000 meters / 9843'.

    To start, your guide will drive you to Gossensass. From there, you’ll hike through the Pflersch Valley to the Sankt Anton Church (1215m / 3986'), where you will stop to fasten your snowshoes. Following the signs for Allriss, cross the brook and veer right onto the road toward Stein. Shortly after the fork, turn left onto a winding forest service road that leads to Allrissalm (1534m /5033'), a traditional and picturesque mountain farmstead, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch (included)
    From this charming spot, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the enchanted, snow-covered forests. 
    Finally, retrace your steps back to the Sankt Anton Church and return to the car along the same route you followed in the morning.

  • Day 3

    Val Ridanna

    Today’s snowshoe adventure unfolds in the foothills of some of the most imposing peaks in the High Eisack Valley, along a moderately steep forest service road.Your guide will drive you to Maiern at 1400 meters / 4593' of altitude. Behind the Schneeberg Hotel, you’ll find the trail sign for Zunderspitzhütte, the destination for the day.

    Heading south, you’ll enter a forest and ascend along the forest service road. The route winds uphill through woods before opening up to snow-laden alpine meadows. After approximately two hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at the Zunderspitzhütte farmstead (1910m / 6266'), where you can stop for lunch (included)
    If time allows, you may continue towards other pastures before beginning your return. Following the same route back, you’ll conclude your day immersed in the peaceful atmosphere of this winter landscape.

  • Day 4

    Freundalm

    On today’s excursion, you will explore the historic farmstead trail, once used to access silver and lead mines. This trail now leads to the sun-kissed Freundalm farmstead.
    Your adventure begins with your guide driving you to Obertelfes. From the main town fountain, you will fasten your snowshoes and follow the signs for Freundalm, veering left towards Maso Kappeler, an Alpine farmhouse situated at 1353 meters / 4439'. Continue your journey, crossing forests and meadows on a moderately steep slope, until you reach Freundalm at 1720 meters / 5643'. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in classic Alpine style.
    Afterward, from the farmstead, you can choose to continue snowshoeing through soft, glistening snow-blanketed expanses, which you can imagine transforming into beautiful, lush green pastures once the warm summery weather arrives. To return, simply retrace your steps to Obertelfes, where your guide will drive you back to Sterzing / Vipiteno.

Necessary equipment
For the snowshoe outing, you'll need snowshoes, poles, a headlamp, and an ARVA kit (provided by Dolomite360).

Highlights
Be sure to pack a backpack with essentials: spare change, snacks, a water bottle or thermos, gloves, and a hat or headband. We recommend dressing in layered, waterproof technical clothing. For the snowshoe outing, snow boots are a must-have (please avoid Moonboots).
