Itinerary
Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Ampezzo valley, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, are famous worldwide and it isn’t a coincidence. The reason will be crystal clear as soon as you arrive at our beautiful mountains. The Dolomites frame a green and lush valley in perfect harmony with the typical architecture of the area.
On the first day of your adventure, you will explore the mountain trails of Cortina d’Ampezzo, in contact with nature and its energy. A professional mountain guide will introduce you to the beauty of walking through fragrant forests and lush green meadows, safely. In the evening you will be regenerated and satisfied, ready for the adventure of the next day.
On the second day you will experience “foraging”, which means going through woods and meadows in search of wild herbs and berries, as our grandmother did to use the precious harvest in the kitchen. On one hand the effect of the economic crisis and on the other the desire to rediscover the tastes and the authentic textures of nature’s gifts, this ancient practice has come back into vogue and has seduced many chefs, even starred ones. A new range of sensory experiences, the need to have a healthier diet and the interest in an active approach to sourcing food, have made foraging very popular. Foraging today means having a new environmental consciousness, focused on the origin of the raw materials we eat, in the name of biodiversity and sustainability.
In this perspective, you will reach the Pian Federa area with Riccardoo Gaspary, chef and owner of the El Brite de Larieto farmhouse, a mountain agricusine restaurant that has been awarded both with the red and the green star by Michelin. With the chef you will gather herbs and berries of the area and discover their uses in cooking. Pian Federea, a panoramic point immersed in one of the largest larch forests in Europe, will be the natural stage for an unforgettable picnic prepared with the Brite Mobile, the mobile kitchen of Riccardo’s restaurant, that will allow you to enjoy a special menu with wine pairing.
